TextPlus pulls your contacts stored within your device. Any changes and updates that are done within your device's contacts list should take immediate effect in your textPlus application. You will want to assign a phone number to your contact in your address book before launching textPlus.

iOS
In order to have a regular phone user's name appear in textPlus instead of just their number:
1. Select a conversation you have with a phone user
2. Tap the grey default picture next to one of their messages
3. Select "Add to Contacts"
4. Select "Create New Contact"
5. Enter their name in the name fields (and tap the "add photo" button to give them a picture)
6. Hit done, and then hit done again
7. Go back to the conversation and now you will see their name instead of their number

Android
If you would like a name to appear, save the regular phone number or textPlus phone number as a contact in your device's address book with a corresponding name, and then that name will be displayed in place of the number in textPlus.

If you are in Canada and a number is not currently available for your area, just choose a number from a neighboring area.
