Text Plus and Connecting to Facebook
How do I link my Facebook account?
Select the Facebook Button below the search field at top of the Contacts list in People Tab.
How do I get notified when my friends join textPlus? How do I turn friend notifications on and off?
If friends notifications is enabled, you receive a message in your inbox whenever any of them joins textPlus.
For iOS:
To get notified when address book friends join textPlus, tap the Address Book ON|OFF key on the Settings screen so it reads ON. To disable address book notifications, tap the key so it reads OFF.
If your facebook account is linked to your textPlus account, you can do the same for facebook notifications by tapping the Facebook Friends ON|OFF key.
For Android:
To get notified when address book friends join textPlus, tap the Contacts Notifications check box on the Settings screen so it has a check mark in it. To disable contacts notifications, tap that check box so it is empty.
If your facebook account is linked to your textPlus account you can do the same for facebook notifications by tapping the Facebook Notifications check box.
What do I do if I’ve added new facebook friends since syncing my facebook account?
Sync your facebook account again. Go to Settings and tap Sync Facebook.
Can I unlink my facebook account?
Yes you can.
To unlink your facebook account from your textPlus account, do as follows:
1. Login to your Facebook account
2. Click the white “down” arrow at the far right of the blue menu bar
3. Click Privacy Settings on the dropdown menu
4. Click Edit Settings to the right of Apps and Websites
5. Click Edit Settings to the right of Apps you use
6. Find textPlus and click the “x” to the right of Edit
Why isn’t a friend in one of my facebook groups not showing up in my facebook friends list?
Your friend is not in your facebook Friends list, just a facebook group. textPlus only adds people from facebook to your textPlus contacts list that you’ve accepted as a friend on facebook.
Also, try going to Settings and tapping Sync Facebook. This refreshes your friends from your facebook account to your textPlus contacts list.
Why do some of my contacts have an invite button or message button?
Your friend must have a mobile number in your device contact list. If you have a friend with only an email address in your device contact list, they will have an invite button with which you can invite them via email to join textPlus.
You can text FREE from an iPod Touch or iPhone. It’s a very simple app you’ll need and it’s easy to use. Simply go to the iTunes App Store and download textPlus to your iPod Touch or iPhone.
